service activities
Berkeley Friends Meeting members and attenders work quarterly with members of other faith groups to provide service to nonprofits and schools as part of Project Peace East Bay’s program. To date, we have worked for Berkeley Food and Housing Project and Sylvia Mendez Elementary School.
Monthly, our members and attenders make and serve dinner to residents of the YEAH (Youth Engagement Advocacy Housing) Shelter in Berkeley.
Members of Social and Environmental Action painted and finished part of the building for Youth Spirit Artworks in May and June 2018.
An accompaniment team from the Social and Environmental Action Committee provides accompaniment services to a newly arrived immigrant family from Guatemala seeking asylum. This is done under the auspices of Nueva Esperanza to help newly arrived immigrant families.
