Berkeley Friends Meeting Oral History Project
The Oral History Project is an ongoing project of the Outreach and Nurture Committee of the Berkeley Society of Friends. The project was started by Ann Millikan in the 1980s. These oral histories represent not just histories of each individual and their families, but of Berkeley Quakers, politics and culture in Berkeley, and Quakers in California. Periodically, a Friend is asked to contribute their memories to the Project and the Committee sets up an event so other Friends can attend and ask questions; with Donna Eyestone’s assistance, the event is recorded and stored on flash drives so they can be viewed on any computer. The recordings are available in the Meeting Library and also archived at the University of California at Berkeley’s Bancroft Library. To obtain a copy of a DVD ($10), contact Barb Atwell.
